1986 — Ruth — Black Forest, Germany
We both feel fortunate and privileged that the Leica Camera company invited us to attend the White House Correspondents’ Association’s dinner in Washington, D.C., followed by a week long visit to the factory in Wetzlar, Germany. Ernst Leitz had produced the very first 35mm camera, so it was a great experience seeing where photographic history had taken place. We had a chance to see, first hand, the process for making great cameras along with some of the finest optics in the world. Spending an extra week traveling through and photographing the beauty and preserved history of southern Germany was the icing on the cake.
